The coachmen used the same whips that they used for horses in carriages to tear the backs, butts, and thighs of the young servants. These gratuitous and violent beatings make these kids understand that servants have no value and should not expect mercy or respect from their masters.
This is a historical fact, that I was not aware of before, and even a network 🌐 search does not bring any results in this case. I would be a little surprised, since many of the aristocrats living in Russia at the time were of French 🇨🇵 or German 🇩🇪 descent, and they would then be too fine for something like that. But I would trust my Russian 🇷🇺 brothers, who always knew how to live well, to have had this nice little idea to entertain their guests 🙂. However, it could be assumed, that considering the ladies, it shouldn't have been too bloody, and also, that the respective young man 👱♂️, did not end up empty-handed. After all, you were in sophisticated circles there.
