Whipping is a complex art that is very demanding and challenging. A prison guard early in his career may inadvertently, through inability, on some poorly applied lashes simply kill his victim. Long lashes can pull an ear out or blind the victim with a hard blow. Therefore, with experienced supervision in young and smooth leathers, only by practicing many times can the use of the various types of whips be mastered entirely.
There is no learning without error, is there?
That is why the prison put the most experienced prison guard to teach and accompany the daily training of the youngest guards.
The youngest and most miserable inmates, alcoholics, drug addicts, vagrants, or fagots, were reserved for police training and entertainment. Many of them were beaten for hours without pause, cruelly, with much violence and cruelty.
The boys cried, begged for mercy, passed out, pissed, or shit in despair. Nothing distracted or disturbed the executioners' amusement. Learning how to whip without cutting the boys' leather too deeply, avoiding the most vital parts, and allowing for more painful and long-lasting beating is the biggest goal.
Naturally, during classes or on the following days, one or another animal dies from bleeding or wounds. It's not a big problem; it's part of it.
